This isn’t the first time that I have actually attempted to to begin a blog, but it’s the closest I’ve gotten. You see I’m a crafter, not an IT guru. I am sure that things won’t look as pretty as other seasoned bloggers, but I am trying my best! Paper crafting is my jam and I love to share it.
I thought I’d start the blog with a pop-up birthday box card to myself. It flattens out to a regularA-2 size card, that’s a 5 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ card, for mailing.
Cutting Measurements (CS = Cardstock, DSP = Designer Series Paper)
- CS: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”. Score in landscape position at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8”. Turn to portrait/vertical position
and score at 2” for box flaps. - Cut flaps up to score line.
- For box braces:
2 pieces 1” x 3”, scored at ½” and 2-1/2”. - DSP: 4 pieces are 1-3/4” x 1-3/4”. 4 Pieces are 1-3/4” x 3-1/4” for box panels.
Hearts are popped out by attaching them to strips of acetate from card boxes and attached using glue dots. Once you have tried one, you will be hooked! The original inspiration came from a card I did several years back from a sample on Splitcoasters.
